PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Foit practiced as an Associate at a large law firm in Norfolk, Virginia, where she focused on civil litigation. Before entering private practice, she served as a law clerk to the Presiding Judge of the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands in St. Thomas, gaining valuable experience in judicial proceedings and legal research.
During law school, Ms. Foit was actively involved in leadership, advocacy, and international law. She served as President of the International Law Society and Vice-President of the Criminal Law Society. She competed in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and later returned as a coach. She also coached the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court team. Additionally, she was a member of the Public Interest Law Review, a student advocate on the Honor Council, and a Student Ambassador for the Admissions Office.
Ms. Foit gained substantial practical experience through internships with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of International Affairs and the U.S. Attorney’s Office. She also completed a legal practicum with a law firm in Singapore and interned at an international criminal defense firm in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Foit’s practice focuses on workers’ compensation defense, particularly under the Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and the Defense Base Act as well as broader insurance defense matters.
