She was a member of the Moot Court Board and the Trial Advocacy Association. She also served as President of the Student Bar Association during her final year of law school. During law school, Ms. Newman held internships at the Virginia Office of the Attorney General, the American Bar Association, and a small law firm specializing in civil litigation in Fairfax, Virginia.

Ms. Newman is a native Virginian who currently resides in the Hampton Roads area with her husband. She enjoys being a “plant mom,” traveling, quirky history and fun facts, and Halloween.

Ms. Newman’s practice focuses on workers’ compensation defense, particularly Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and Defense Base Act defense, and insurance defense.
